Read our conversation with Jeany below:

What is the most important thing you have learned about in the property and land sector this year?

This year, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in the property and land sector is the value of adaptability—not only in navigating regulatory shifts but also in supporting clients who are new to Indonesia. Some of the choices these investors make can lead to more complex legal handling, yet they bring substantial long-term benefits to the Indonesian market. Helping them align their goals with local regulations has taught me the critical balance of thoroughness and foresight in every transaction.

What is the most important aspect (from legal and business point of view) BEP clients (or potential clients) should consider in facing 2025?

As we approach 2025, BEP clients or investors should focus on staying informed about upcoming regulatory changes that could simplify investment processes, especially for foreign investors. With the new administration aiming to boost foreign investment, we may see policies that encourage smoother transactions and better incentives for long-term growth. For those in the property and land sectors, staying updated on these shifts will be essential to leverage new opportunities and navigate any adjustments in compliance requirements.

What is the most exciting development in your area of expertise that you and BEP clients (or potential clients) can anticipate in the following years?

I think we have passed the crypto – NFT frenzy. So, I’d say that one of the most exciting developments we anticipate in the coming years is the integration of blockchain technology in the financial industry. This means potentially faster, more secure, and transparent transactions, with benefits ranging from efficient property registration to easier compliance management. As blockchain becomes more widely adopted, we’re excited to help clients navigate this emerging technology and leverage its advantages, especially in areas like asset tracking and secure, decentralized data sharing.
